Tim's Tag 10

This was another fun tag! I was feeling very lazy and really liked his example, so I pretty much copied Tim's exactly. The main difference is I used metal tape from my friends at RockCandy Studios. It was just a bit shy of the full width, so I added little strips to the edges.

I didn't have the pens so I just used alcohol inks, a little alcohol, and a paintbrush. I think it worked just fine! I used a black Copic marker to do little stitches since I didn't have the stapler. They look much less dorky in real life! For some reason they really stand out in the pic.

I will share one tip that my friend Cyndi had: We were discussing the tag and she said, of course you can use your Cuttlebug to do the embossing. I was like - !!!! - I had totally forgotten about using it to do the smooshing. I shimmed it up with about three pieces of fun foam and it worked great. I did a tiny bit of detailing with my stump, but most of it was done with the CB. Great tip Cyndi!

  1. Nice job Shelly! That Allie is full of ideas, LOL. Good tip about the CB and I had thought about using the HVAC tape, too, but I think I might have some "other brand" metal sheets. I love your Day 9 tag, too!

  2. Love your black 'stitches'. Maybe I'll use some AI on some staples before putting them in my tiny attacher.

  4. When I saw this tag this morning I was hit with a lot of obstacles. But then I immediately thought, "I wonder what Shelly will come up." I knew you'd get this one done -- and it looks fab, too!

  5. Okay Shelly, you are now two tags ahead of me. I'm in a funk....some personal stuff...and just can't get in the mood to craft anymore. Hopefully, I'll bounce out before too long.

This tag is super!!! I'm going to have to improvise....again...but I think I can do it!

  9. Shelly! Your stitches on tag 10 don't look in the least bit dorky! I love your Tag 12. The flower frog is way too cool! I love odd storage & have lots myself, but no flower frog. I'll have to llok for one/a few.
