Go Green!

This morning I was looking through some of the pictures I took at CHA and realized I hadn't shared this tag on my blog yet. It's perfect for the Go Green challenge over at the Inspiration Journal blog!

I used the Sizzix Mini Cabinet Card die to create a background for my Steampunk men. After it was cut, I painted it with a Pitch Black Dabber and then sanded it. I used one of the Mini Gears from Sizzix to cut out the shape on the top. Then, I took the gear, painted it with a gold Dabber, and reinserted it into the Cabinet Card piece. To give the Mini Number an aged look, I dabbed it with Distress embossing ink and then sprinkled Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress embossing powder over it and heated it.

I created a little custom embellishment by painting an Idea-ology Game Piece with a Pitch Black Dabber and then screwed in one of the new Idea-ology Screw Eyes. It's attached to a Wire Pin that is in turn attached to a length of Crinkle Ribbon that was dyed with Black Soot Distress Stain.

The background was created with the Chalked Emboss technique from the Dec/Jan '12 issue of the Technique Junkie newsletter. This technique is a variation of my Chalk Pastel tech - super easy and a fun way to use those chalks! I used the Sizzix 'Rays' Texture fade to emboss my tag, and added strips of the new Commute Tissue Tape after embossing.

On the side of the tag I added a gear border that was cut with the Sizzix Steampunk On the Edge die and painted with a silver Dabber. The bottom of the cabinet card is embellished with one of the new Idea-ology File Tabs. The little clock behind the men is from the new Destinations Paper Stash from Tim Holtz.

Whew! Hard to believe there is that much going on on one little tag! Please make sure you visit the Inspiration Journal blog and join in with our Going Green challenge - we'd love to have you come and play!
