Hi all! Today I thought I'd share one of the cards I made for Tim Holtz's new idea-ology release for CHA. It features one of my favorite new products - the Found Relatives cards. How cute is that boy and his dog?!

The base of the card is black Core-dinations Kraft Core paper. On top of it I layered one of the papers from the new Wallflower Paper Stash. On the left side, I used Tim's new Courtyard die, cut from chipboard and painted with Aged Mahogany Distress paint. The Found Relative card was stapled to a Ranger black tag using the Tiny Attacher. Along the bottom, I added a Word Band, tied with the new Jute String. The ticket and ruler are both from the new Expedition Ephemera Pack.

Finally, I added a couple of the new Remnant Rubs, a Stencil Mark, and one of the new Alpha Parts (friends).

Steampunk Pop-Up Box Card

Hi everyone! When I first saw the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers for this Pop-up Box Card, I knew it would be the perfect card to make my son for his birthday this month. This is the second year in a row that he's been deployed in the Middle East over Thanksgiving, Christmas, AND his birthday, so I wanted to make him something really special. And I guess it did the trick - he loved it!

The great thing about this card is these inner strips that allow you to add all sorts of raised embellishments. There are so many holidays and occasions this would work for.

For this card, I wanted a masculine look and decided to go with a 'time' theme (seems like I am hooked on that theme lately!) All the paper I used is from Prima's Engraver paper pack. I cut out the clock image and added gears and spinners then adhered it to one of the cross pieces. More gears were added to the other strip. To give it a little more movement, I cut two strips of acetate and adhered them to the center piece. I punched circles from kraft cardstock and added Remnant Rubs with Luke's age (how is it that I have a 22 year old son?!) and added them to the top of the strips.

The pocket watch was cut from chipboard using Tim's Mini Pocketwatch die from Sizzix. On top of it, I added a Remnant Rub, one of the new Index Labels, and Chitchat Stickers. The top is tied with the new Jute String. Love that stuff!

Here's the card folded flat for mailing. It fits perfectly into a 6 x 9" envelope. The pointing finger is from the new Expedition Ephemera pack. At the bottom, I spelled out 'party' with letters cut from kraft paper using Tim's Wanted alpha die. To give the card a little height when opened, I cut a pediment from cardstock and painted it black. After sanding it a bit, I adhered it to the top of the back portion of the card.

I love including Vine videos so you can get a better idea of how the different pop-up cards operate. Isn't it just the coolest card?? It was also incredible easy to figure out how to put it together. Even though it looks really complicated, it is only a few scores and cuts.

Time 2 Create - New CHA Releases!

Hi all! With CHA officially underway, I can finally start sharing the projects I created using Tim Holtz's new products from idea-ology, Sizzix, Stampers Anonymous, and Ranger! As always, I ran out of time before I ran out of ideas, but I did get a few good pieces made that I really love.

This little storage cart using Tim's new Matchbox die from Sizzix just might be my favorite project of all time! I knew when I first saw the die that I would make something like this. After I put the boxes together, they seemed so small, so I just started building and building!

In addition to the cool matchbox die, I love all of the new idea-ology bits and pieces! Here, I've used the Number Brads (they make great drawer pulls!), the Alpha Chips, and one of the arrows from the new Framed Alpha Parts. I also used the new Boardwalk alpha die to spell out 'time'. Oh, and that clock face that fits perfectly into the Pocket Watch die? It's included in the new Thrift Shop Ephemera pack. I was so tickled to discover that! The top is tied with a piece of Tim's new Jute String, which might be my favorite product this time around. Ah, who am I kidding? They are ALL my fave! ;-)

Speaking of time and creativity...I had a really nice surprise last month when I found out (thanks, Gloria!) the Assemblage Clock that I made for last year's CHA was featured in an idea-ology ad on the back of the latest issue of The Stampers' Sampler. How cool is that?! Some of you may not know that Stampers' Sampler was the first magazine I was ever published in - so it was a very special thing to have somewhat come full circle with my art. I still remember nervously submitting that first project too! It was a 'Tempting Template' challenge and I made an Indian-themed cup filled with Chai mix and cinnamon sticks. That was 10 years ago. Time flies!
