One thing that's great about the Minis is you can fit a lot of color into a tight space. I thought they'd be perfect to use with the Distress watercolor technique. I added a little twist by spritzing the inked stamp with Perfect Pearls Mist instead of water. I love the look! Very subtle shimmer - just enough to make the background special without overwhelming it. Here's a quick tutorial if you'd like to try it yourself!
Supplies: Ranger Distress Watercolor Cardstock, Ranger Mini Distress Ink (I used set #9), Ranger Perfect Pearls Mist - Pearl, Stampers Anonymous Wallpaper Rubber Stamp
Begin by applying the ink to sections of the stamps - starting with the lightest color. After your stamp is inked, spritz the surface with Pearl mist. You can use as little or as much as you'd like. I wanted a very faded, watery look, so my application is fairly heavy.
Immediately place the watercolor paper onto the stamp. Cover with a piece of scrap paper and press to transfer the ink.
Remove paper from stamp and let dry. If there are areas where the ink has puddled, you can carefully blot to remove them.
When the stamped panel is dry, adhere it to a folded black Kraft Core card. Emboss a strip of kraft cardstock using the Sizzix Letterpress Texture Fade and attach to left side. Stamp image of man, trim closely and adhere to card with foam dots. Embellish card using various idea-ology embellishments.
The products I used can be found at Inspiration Emporium via the links below. When shopping at IE, remember to use my coupon code - stamptramp - to save 10% on your order.
Thanks so much for stopping by today - I hope you enjoyed my tutorial. Have a wonderful, creative week!
