Today's ornament features quite a few different techniques - things I've wanted to share and things I took a chance experimenting with. I hope you enjoy it.
Begin by inserting the largest of the Sized Oval dies into the Cameo Frame. Die cut a piece of medium weight chipboard, creating a frame. Cut another piece, this time without the oval insert, and set aside.
Stamp the woodgrain stamp using Gathered Twigs Distress ink and emboss with Walnut Stain Distress Embossing powder. Ink over the embossed area with Gathered Twigs. I love this wood effect!
I was inspired to try this technique after seeing cork stickers. I was like, heck, I have cork, stamps, and framelits - I can make my own! Stamp the image with StazOn and die cut. The cork I used cut just fine. If yours it a little thicker, you might have to trim part of it with scissors.
Next, take the frame that you cut earlier and trim off the edge along the score line. Paint with several coats of chalkboard paint. When the paint is completely dry, stamp with chalk ink. Use a Fantastix pen (love these things!) to smudge the ink, so that it looks hand drawn. Dry it with a heat gun to set.
I hope you enjoyed this technique-filled ornament! I love the look of the chalkboard combined with the wood frame - perfect for my woodland tree theme. And even though this stamp/framelit set seems to be discontinued, there are lots more that would be perfect for the die cut cork technique.

Love the chalkboard effect and it's so great to see you using the Artistic Outpost stamps. And thanks for the nudge to use the cork sheets. I saw some at JoAnn's last week and was reminded that I have some in my stash. I need to get them out and USE them :) Another wonderful ornament!
