Hi all! I have a new tutorial on the Sizzix blog for this frosty little winter decor piece using Tim Holtz's new Luminary die. I combined it with Tim's new Holiday Joy Framelits and Stamps set which has the sweetest collection of images. I love being able to cut those stamped images so precisely, and the Magnetic Platform makes it completely hassle-free (no taping down your die or having it shift just before it cuts) and foolproof!
Here's how it looks at night. So pretty! The full, step-by-step tutorial can be found HERE.
Update: Since this is an older project, some of the products have been discontinued. I've tried to update the shopping list with corrected links, and links to similar products.
Have you seen Tim Holtz's big announcement? Be sure and come back on Friday when I'll be sharing my project using the new Jumbo Tattered Florals die. You are going to definitely need this die!

This is beautiful Shelly! I love this die and have it. But I have such a hard time with the top piece! I hope it's not only me.
ReplyDeleteLove your luminary and that is great advice about putting it together before painting, a mistake I made with mine and found it so difficult - lesson learned. I could not quite work out how to get the top right either but after several attempts it worked. You are so right, it is a fabulous die and will be so versatile! Thanks for the excellent tutorial.
ReplyDeleteFabulous, I haven't used mine yet but you have inspired me to to get it out. TFS.

What a gorgeous home dec piece you have created, Shelly. LOVE the color of the crackle paint! I always use Picket Fence and need to explore other colors. Thanks for giving us all a push to use this fab die!
