This is a bit of an experiment that didn't turn out like I wanted it to. The theme for Tag Tuesday is Summer Flowers. This morning, Michelle Zindorf posted a tutorial where she used Prismacolors on black card stock. It is so stunning - I wanted to try it! No fancy colored pencils tho....I've never been big on coloring. I had a couple lying around (probably cast offs from my kid's old school supplies). I gave it my best shot, but it is absolutely nothing like hers! Guess I need some more practice......and maybe better pencils?
I added some homemade shimmer spray and thought it kinda came out looking like she was in a garden at nighttime. Use your imagination! ;-)
My flower stamp is from Starving Artistamps and the girl is from ARTchix (no longer available).
Hi Shelly! Thanks for the comment on my tag! I love your experiment.....and she does look as if she's in a night-time garden. Pretty tag!
ReplyDeletewell I think it's beautiful
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work !!

Yup, sometimes you can skimp and sometimes you can't....lol! Prismacolors are the best.
ReplyDeleteBut I love the evening in the garden look about your tag, it's lovely!
That really is a fun technique that you tried. When you play around with it a little I think you will find that lighter, brighter colors work better. You did achieve a great night garden look with those deep colors so your experiment was a success!!
ReplyDeleteI like the night-time garden effect you achieved here:)
ReplyDeleteYour tag is lovely, Shelley...the flowers look lovely on the black background and I love your collage image.
ReplyDeleteWell I think your tag looks great. Nice flowers.
ReplyDeleteGreat tag. Looks like she's tiptoeing through the tulips, oops, no, not tulips. anyway, it's a nice technique the color on black.
ReplyDeleteWow, I love the background. Great composition too!
ReplyDeleteI love summer time in the garden, I can almost smell those flowers, you just never know what you will discover when you experiment!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty - like a fairy flitting through the garden at night!
ReplyDeleteHi Shelly,
ReplyDeleteGrrr-eat tag! Thanks for your recent "visit" to my blog.
