For the past couple days, I've been puttering away in my studio, trying to get my desk clean. I'm a bit of a hoarder and I tend to save everything 'just in case'. It's a horrible habit, but I can't help myself! Today, I looked at the
The tag was one I used to mop up the leftover ink from my Remnant Resist project. The bird was a CHA project reject that was too pretty to throw away, and the flowers were cut from kraft paper when I made my Sizzix Mother's Day card. I put them all together with one of my favorite stamps from Tim Holtz' Way With Words stamp set. I just love that quote!
The bird was cut from Grungeboard using the Bird Branch die and painted with Adirondack Dabbers. When the paint was dry, I lightly sanded the edges and then inked with Corduroy Distress Ink. Some of the flowers were painted with the same paint and then given a spritz of Gold Perfect Pearls mist and layered with the plain kraft blooms. I added a strip of Tissue Tape at the top and bottom, and tied a Distress stained ribbon through the tag. Finally, I added a Remnant Rub to one of the new Tag Labels and attached it to the ribbon with a Wire Pin.

Oh my God I have the same problem-I save the EVERYTHING thinking I can use it later and then not only do I forget but I have a studio that is a mess and I can't find what I need. It is definitely a sickness and i am tying to get better. I am drowning under a pile of Tim Holtz packaging that I MIGHT need or use later and yet I'd have to make a thousands of projects to use what I have already. Ugh, if you figure out how to treat this disorder can you share it with me?
ReplyDeleteUgh...I'm not getting your feed! I hate it when that happens! Fab tag though! Love the quote and the background is great, especially for cast off.
ReplyDeleteI am a scrap and re-use for future projects hoarder too! I just came across a hard cover notebook I bought years ago, I am now going through it and covering the pages with stuff I have been saving and using my die cut scraps on it. Thankyou for the inspiration of this tag. We hoarders need all the support we can get!
