Hi everyone! A couple months ago, the incredibly talented Karen Burniston asked a few designers to collaborate on a project using her Accordion 3D Die. She asked us each to create a two panel card, that she would then connect, creating a cool album featuring each of our styles. You can see the full album on Karen's blog - it's truly amazing!
Do you notice the cool stitching and cutouts on my panels? Those were created with the new Labels and Stitched Frames Framelits dies from Karen's new Snippets collection. You are SO going to need those dies! I was also lucky to have her new Swirls embossing folder, which I used on the outer frame. Love that pattern!
To decorate the card, I mostly used papers and embellishments from Prima's Engraver collection. I love the way it all works together. I apologize for the fuzzy pic - I totally forgot to photograph this before I sent it to Karen so she did a last minute late night quick photo for me. Thanks, Karen! The album will be on display in the Sizzix booth at CHA, so make sure you check it out if you're there. It's so fun to see the different artist's styles.
Most of the supplies I used can be found at Inspiration Emporium via the links below. Remember to use my coupon code - stamptramp - to save 10% on your order!
I'm heading back out to the studio to create a few more samples for CHA. If you're going, please come and find me! I'll be helping Karen with her class and I'll also be in the Sizzix booth with her. I'd love to meet you!
I'll also be sharing pics (and hopefully some videos) of CHA happenings. You can follow me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
Have a great weekend!
Super part of the book! Totally in your style. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing piece! I love everything you make!
ReplyDeleteOh Shelly, this is so cute and so YOU! JUST LOVE IT!! Wish I was going to CHA but it's not open to the public:( Went a couple of years ago (Chicago show) with a friend and we had an incredible time. Sooooo much fun to see new products and try them out. I bought Karen's accordian die and have made a couple of b-day cards and a graduation card for my nephew. It's FABULOUS and I think my most favorite of her collection. (She is a TRUE genius in my mind.) Anyone attending CHA and getting to meet with the two of you are very, very lucky! Have fun and be safe:)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea to connect all the designers' pieces! Love what you did here, Shelly. All those vintage style embellies from Prima are really fantastic. Have a great time at CHA - can't wait to see all your samples when you return!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Shelly. I love this die so much that I have a Pinterest folder just for samples using. it.
ReplyDeleteI'll be there, and will be sure to come hug you!!! Gorgeous card! Gorgeous face!
