Tim's Tag, Day 10 - A New Technique!

It seems like it happens every year...I keep up with the tags until the end, and then I start falling behind. As anyone who has been keeping up can tell you, it takes a lot of time to do these each day! At some point you do have to actually get some work done, feed your family, etc. I stole a little time today to work on #10 and #11, but only managed to get this one done.

I had tried the tape transfer technique before, but never got great results. Mine came out this time, but for some reason I am very challenged when it comes to gluing stuff to Fragments! For that reason, I decided to do just one and doll it up with a Sizzix Paper Rosette die. Behind the rosette, I added a border cut using the Sizzix Vintage Lace die - I just found this technique in the latest issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter and couldn't wait to try it! The tag background stamp and holly stamp are both from Tim Holtz's Mini Holidays 3 stamp set.

To finish off my tag I added some tinsel garland, tulle, a dyed ribbon, and more pearl acorns. I tried to resist using them, but they're so adorable!

    Beautiful. I must get me one of those rosette dies pronto! Super colors, super job.
    I know exaclty what you mean about having no time for fun in the craft room. Today I found a few minutes to cut out some tags with my cricut!!!

    Wow, simply amazing! Your rosette and Santa fragment are a winning combination - and your gluing looks just fine to me! Love your color palette and beautiful music sheet background.

    I know what you mean about falling behind with everything else. It is my first year to participate and I think I became obsessed to the exclusion of everything else. Had to take time off from the tags this weekend to catch up on the rest of my life!

    Well I think it looks amazing on the rosette - what a great idea! I have managed to keep up (with just today's to go!) this year but have got glitter all over the place! What day did we use glitter, lol!!

    Shelly, I love that you give us a twist on each of Tim's tags. Your take on Day 10 is lovely. And I can understand why you start to fade toward the end. These tags are so labor intensive I can't begin to keep up and I don't even have a family to take care of now. Will look forward to seeing the last two when you have time to finish them.

    As if the pearl acorns weren't cute enough, now gilded little pearl acorns! I love it! Thanks for sharing the vintage lace diecut with the rosette technique, love that too! I hadn't 'needed' the vintage lace die until now! Enabler! :)

    Shelly, you constantly amaze me with your stunning art. I love what you did here with the rosette and the antique lace border. So clever and beautifully done. I too was keeping up pretty good every day up to Day 10 then plum got tired and had to take a break.

    Real nice tag and I love the lace trim behind the rosette !!

    I bought the technique junkies CD and I'm working on several projects from it.
    Maybe I should take a subscription for this too...
