Karen Burniston Designer Challenge - Summer Lovin'!

Hi all! It's time again for Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge. This month it's all about Summer Lovin' - whatever way the team wanted to interpret that. I decided to go with an ocean theme, because that's one of the best things to do in the summer!

I had picked up some gorgeous napkins at Tuesday Morning with the thought that I'd try the trick of adhering them to cardstock and using that as my background paper. Even though this technique has been around for years, I'd never tried it. Now, I'm hooked! Look how gorgeous that is! I used my Xyron laminator to apply adhesive to white cardstock, then peeled the layers of napkin apart until I had just the top layer, then adhered it to the cardstock, smoothing the wrinkles as I went. After I had my panels done, I used Karen's Fancy Label Accordion die to cut three card panels.

I used the trellis style die from Karen's Fancy Frame Edges to cut a pretty frame from the front. All the embellishments were cut from extra pieces of laminated napkin. I love these super detailed napkins - so much to fussy cut!

After decorating the outer two panels, I stamped a sentiment using Karen's Just a Note stamp set on cream cardstock, then layered it to a red panel - both cut with the dies from the accordion set. Finally, I added a couple of shells that were cut from the napkin paper using the little shell from the Rocky the Crab die set. Just perfect!

The supplies I used can be found at Elizabeth Craft Designs, Simon Says Stamp, and Amazon via the links below.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
