Junk

I went to my favorite junk sale today and got some great stuff!

Silver plated spoons - two for $1. I don't know why, but spoons in my house disappear with alarming frequency. Now I'm set for awhile. Kicking myself for not buying a few knives and forks.

Rusty casters with wooden wheels. I love these!

A whole bunch of rusted drawer pulls.

I also got a box of vintage sewing stuff, an old children's reading primer from 1911, and a very cool vintage Chinese checkers board, and a few other odds and ends. Great day!

  1. Hey Shelly! Is this a regular sale location? Also, you must have a good storage place for those rusty wheels, etc.

  13. Wow, you hit the mother load. I can't wait to see what you do with all thatgreat stuff. I think there's definitely a talent for shopping for antiques, a talent which I do not have mind you. I wish I did though. You clearly have a wonderful knack for it. BTW, I just love your work and I have for some time now. The prior post with the "masculine" piece is truly awesome. I love that look. Take care!

  14. Awesone find. I love to shop at an auctioneer nearby. He keeps all the "junk" that doesn't go into the auction or doesn't sell and it's like a candy store. Of course we have to dig through the stuff, but doesn't that make it all the more fun? I pick up silver silverware too and bead them or turn them into wind chimes.
