I'm so excited to share one of my favorite projects from the new Technique Junkies 3D and Fun Folds CD. It's called a Fantasy Box and it is seriously one of the coolest things ever. When it's closed, it looks great, but the real magic is when you take off the lid...
And your simple box opens to reveal four secret compartments! Seriously, how cool is this??? I used papers from Tim Holtz's Idea-ology Paper Stash to cover the outside and inside, and also for my lid and little boxes. Do you believe this is all created from paper? One of my favorite things to do is 'build' things from paper. That's what is so fun about the CD - 70 projects you can create out of paper!
These little boxes are great for holding all my little Idea-ology findings. Wouldn't this be an amazing gift for a crafty friend? To decorate my edges, I cut lace trim from white cardstock using the Sizzix Vintage Lace die (this die is fast becoming one of my faves!). I inked it with the new Gathered Twigs ink from the Limited Edition Fall Distress Collection and then sanded it off a bit with my Idea-ology Sanding Grip.

Yet another fabulous creation, this would make a great jewellery storage. I love it. Great added ticket too, wonderful idea adding to the ornate plate. Lovely. Thanks so much for joining in the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge. Tracy x

ReplyDeleteI love this idea! Great project Shelly! x
ReplyDeleteI've made a few of these but none as substantial looking as yours! What material did you use for the "base" of the box? It looks wonderful, Shelly. (I made one as a high school graduation gift for a niece and tucked money in the "drawers.")
ReplyDeleteJust terrific, Shelly!
ReplyDeleteFabulous choice of papers for your fantasy box. I have made quite a few of these. They seem to be something that everyone loves...Donna
ReplyDeleteVery fun box. Love that it opens with multiple containers! Beautiful design and box.
ReplyDeleteSeriously? I liked the box in the first photo and went all bug-eyed with the second photo - how cool is this? I *love* seeing new things - especially when they come from you! :)

ReplyDeleteWow, Shelly, this is absolutely fabulous! Love the way it opens and shows the cascading drawers. You've embellished it so beautifully, too, with the lace. I just got that die and need to show it some paper!
ReplyDeleteShelly, I am just blown away by your fabulous box...now I must ask if it's ok that I teach this at Stamp Fever, or do I need to ask someone else? This is perfect for my son's birthday!!
