Shabby Valentine Artist Trading Block

Hi all! Today I'm sharing my ATB version of Tim Holtz's February tag. I loved the vintage shabbiness of his design and I knew it would work beautifully on an Artist Trading Block.

To create the block, I die cut two panels from medium weight chipboard using Eileen Hull's 3D Cube die. After assembling it, I painted the edges with a Picket Fence Distress Dabber. I covered the sides with a coordinating paper from Tim's Menagerie collection. After that, I went crazy with the ephemera, pretty much following Tim's layout. The heart was cut from a wool sweater I had felted last year - I love the thickness and texture of it!

I finished the block by adding little painted wooden feet and a knob to the top. I glued my lid closed, but you could definitely leave it open and use this as a gift box that would also double as a decor piece.

All of the supplies I used can be found at Inspiration Emporium, Simon Says Stamps, and Amazon via the links below. Remember to use my coupon code - stamptramp - at IE to save 10% on your order!
